International GIS Day

GIS (Geographic Information System) is a scientific framework for gathering, analyzing, and visualizing geographic data for making better decisions. On the international GIS Day, people can learn about geography and real-world applications of GIS that are making a difference in society, and get an inspiration to discover and use GIS.

The GIScience Group of the Institute of Geography of Friedrich Schiller University Jena is contributing to this event with a half-day program (German) consisting of lectures on the application of Geographic Information Science in research and private industry. Please register here until 17.11.2020.

Link and access data to the Zoom conference will be announced on the page of the GIScience Group (see below) on the day of the event from 9:00 am, dial-in is open from 9:45 am.
