Within the framework of Dagstuhl Seminars, in two weeks is taking place the seminar Computer Science Meets Ecology, from February 27th to March 3rd.
This international event, co-organized by members of the MSCJ, will gather a group of researchers from varied disciplines motivated with the same topic: to establish links between ecology and computer sciences. The advances in computer supported research become really valuable to understand and monitor ecological systems. Therefore, the seminar will follow two approaches. From the perspective of ecology: where would ecology profit from computer science? And from the point of view of computer sciences: where could computer science gain challenging research questions from a collaboration with ecology? The outcome of the seminar would be to define potential project ideas for interdisciplinary collaborations and apply for suitable funding schemes.
