The state of Thuringia supports the continuation of the two AI-based projects “Canarėno” and “simpLEX” at Friedrich Schiller University Jena. The projects are hosted at the Competence Center Digital Research (zedif) and the Heinz Nixdorf Professorship for Distributed Information Systems at the University of Jena. Project partners are the Jena city administration, the DLR Institute for Data Science, Bielefeld University and the Stein-Hardenberg Institut GmbH.
For the continuation, 4.3 million euros have been released, which come from the federal economic stimulus package. This is aimed at accelerating the implementation of the act to improve online access to administrative services (“Onlinezugangsgesetz”, OZG), which came into force in 2017. The two projects create the necessary foundation for accelerating the implementation of electronic administrative services in order to achieve a higher level of automation.
