On March 15, 2021, the head of the Competence Center Digital Research, Dr. Frank Löffler, took up his work. The RDM Expert, Dr. Christian Knüpfer, will start on April 1, 2021. The administration of the Competence Center will be taken over by Jennifer Wagner. The positions for two further experts will be advertised during the next days.
In addition, the Competence Center received its official German name: “Kompetenzzentrum Digitale Forschung”, with the acronym “zedif” in German and English. The website of the zedif will be set up during the next weeks.
The first activities of the current zedif members will be to get in touch with related facilities at Friedrich Schiller University Jena as well as with potential research partners at FSU and MSCJ to discuss collaborations. The services of the Research Data Management Helpdesk, for example, will be offered as part of the zedif in the future. A close relationship has also been established already with the High Performance Computing Service of the University Computer Center and Dr. André Sternbeck.
