GIS (Geographic Information System) is a scientific framework for gathering, analyzing, and visualizing geographic data for making better decisions. On the international GIS Day on November 18, 2020, people can learn about geography and real-world applications of GIS that are making a difference in society, and get an inspiration to discover and use GIS.
The GIScience Group of the Institute of Geography of Friedrich Schiller University Jena is contributing to this event with a half-day program (German) (10:00 am – 12:30 pm) consisting of lectures on the application of Geographic Information Science in research and private industry.
