In 2019, the Retreat of Michael Stifel Center Jena has taken place from November 27 to November 29 in Bad Blankenburg (Thuringia).
One main topic has been the Kick-off Meeting of the MSCJ joint project “A Virtual “Werkstatt” for Digitization in the Sciences “. Another focus was set on the Digital Humanities with an introduction to the project “CORE-H: Collaborative Open Research Environment for the Humanities” and the new junior professors in this field at Friedrich Schiller University (FSU), Sina Zarrieß and Sander Münster.
The newly established Michael Stifel Kolleg has been introduced at the Retreat. And an overview was given on the HPC service of the computer center of FSU. In a world café and working groups, it has been discussed how to improve research and education in MSCJ as well as outreach of MSCJ. Incorporated in the Retreat has been the General Assembly of MSCJ members.

Also this year, MSCJ Retreat will take place in November. We are looking forward to exciting new topics and fruitful networking.
