We are happy to announce that PD Dr. Markus Bernhardt-Römermann (FSU: Faculty of Biological Sciences) is now member of MSCJ. Welcome on board!
The species composition and biodiversity of ecosystems primarily depends on nutrient availability and land use, but is also influenced by the climatic conditions. However, the knowledge how these factors interact is limited. Consequently, the research of PD Dr. Bernhardt-Römermann deals with the importance and interactions between abiotic (e.g., temperature, precipitation, nutrient availability through inputs from the air) and biotic factors (e.g., taxonomic and functional diversity) for changes in vegetation and ecosystems along large spatio-temporal scales.
